My SQL Server Installation

I downloaded ther MySQL rpm, ran the rmp -i MySQL<blah blah>.rmp (the max version)
it did its thing. I then tried reading the instructions provided by the MySQL guys on the website
but the instructions seem so vague and non understandable. Does anyone have a clue what i need to do next to get the MySQL server going on RedHad 7.2 after running the rpm??? I just can't follow their instructions at all and they wany like $250 to help with installation.

the daemon should already be running. simply try to log in and set root password. if not you can start the daemon by:
'/usr/local/mysqlversion/bin/safe_mysqld mysql &'
(i hope i donīt mix uo things now) give it a try
cheers jens
