my sound card make funny sound in gaim

finally i was able to play music though cdplay in gnome, now the problem is in gaim when i type a message and push enter to send it, it makes funny noise that could mess up my ear,

It is certainly possible to change the annoying sound to a terminal beep under preferences -> sound. It may also be possible to entirely disable gaim sound there.
