Angry My KDE is blurry...?

I just installed Slackware 9.1 and setup KDE 3.1. Well Im using a resolution of 1024-768, always did before on Redhat, Mandrake. Well I log on now and some text is nice and fine while other text is blurry and hurts my eyes. It did this on College Linux too. I know my eyes arent bad and my monitor isnt going bad because i have a windows machine and this slackware box hooked up to a KVM switch. Everything is clear on windows. I was wondering if anyone had this problem with blurriness and how did you fix it. Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Bifur

ps: really blurry when you click the KDE start bar but when i go over in the menu to look at the programs its nice and readable...its just weird to me.

Maybe the default set-up that slack uses doesn't
quite exploit your monitors capabilities?

Does your monitor allow to check the refresh
rate?

Cheers,
