Red face My GOD. Fedora box spawns 300 processes nearly instantly


Any gurus got an explanation on this...

We had slow loads... I SSH'ed in.. noticed load was at 8... analog was at 1/3 memory... sitting there using no cpu. I issued kill -9 on it... bunch of Ensim crap comes up... next thing I know load is 130 with 593 processes.

This has happened before, and without me killing anything. I did issue:

$ ps -Af > (filename).txt

Here is the contents of the file:

ps -Af output
