Music transfer (this should be easy shouldn't it)
 

ok so i just got this new phone i am so excited that i wanted to put music on it because it is vcast enabled. so i pluged it into windows and it didn't work (what a surprise) and now i connected it into my linux box and it charges yippie... but amarok realplayer and my other media players don't detect it. i googled it but got nothing. and now i just need to say how do i do this cause that would rock.(literaly) it is the motorola v3m

Without some kind of driver on the computer to interface the phone how would it work and I'd be suprised if you find one. The phone would also have to be capable of communicating to the computer. Realplayer, Mediaplayer etc are just players they won't have any idea where thise files are on your phone, how to access them or what format there in.

well all those players just detect it in windows and if they detected it in linux i could find the /dev/XXXX file and tell amarok exactly where it is and tell it what to do like convert the files so i just need to acess the filesystem like mount it or somthing

In Windows I had to download a music fix at http://support.vzw.com/pdf/Sync_Music_Fix.exe (Windows File), but again that was Windows, so I don't know if it will work in linux, but I am interested to see if it does.

Google "Moto4lin"...install it and the drivers and you can view your phone like with Windows P2K programs. Once you get it installed and working, you can just dump MP3's into your phone. I have a KRZR and do it that way all the time. Best of luck.

ECACE, I downloaded and installed motolin4 and although it detects my phone just fine, I'm unable to upload songs to my razr v3i. Also, I'm unable to download songs from the phone to my desktop. What do you suggest?

A bluetooth adaptor.
