Music not showing up in XMMS playlist

I am getting my mp3s from my windows hard drive (hda1), I have the fstab file setup like:

/dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 vfat umask=000

So, when I go into XMMS, and load the directory from my windows drive, it only loads one file, and I've got about 750. Where do they go? Or how do I get them to load in XMMS? Any ideas?

Thanks :Pengy:

There's a lot of possible reasons for them not
showing up...

What file type are your music files?
Is the file you see of the same type as
the others?
Did you verify that they are actually visible
when mounted?

Cheers,

The most common reason for this that I could think of is that XMMS playlists expect directory listings to be with a slash '/', whereas winamp (windows) playlists have a backslash '\'. You could edit your playlist in your favorite editor and do a search and replace to fix this problem.

all the files are mp3's, even the 1 that does show up.

and, yes, all the files are visible under the mounted partition. i tried the / to \, but still only got that one file showing up.

even if i try to add single files they dont show up, only that one.

There is no mp3 support in RH8, see http://www.xmms.org/ for info and a RH8 rpm with mp3 support.
