any ideas about a music creator/synthesizer software for linux?

You can use AudaCity (AudioCity), I self not used it, but heard it's like SoundForge.

Rosegarden is a MIDI sequencer. Careful though, there are two projects with that name...make sure you get the latest one. I think it uses Qt and looks much better than the older project which IIRC uses old GTK 1.2.
