Mupen64Plus installation problems on ASUS Eee PC 701SD with default Xandros

Hi,

I've recently tried to install Mupen64Plus from the code.google.com website (using the binaries) and I've run into a problem.

Originally, the install.sh script was not putting the executable binary in /usr/local/bin, so I fixed this by temporarily chmodding the folder to 777 and placing it in there.

Now, when I type mupen64plus in the terminal, I get this:

bash: /usr/local/bin/mupen64plus: cannot execute binary file

After preforming an ls -l check on the file, I got these results:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 user user 52240 2010-02-13 19:47 mupen64plus

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about Linux to know what this means and how to fix it, and neither do i know how to build and compile. Could someone help?

Thanks,

Turboo

The default Xandros is old, many modern application can not run on it. Like you can't run modern applications on Windows 98 or Millenium. It was outdated by many years when the Eee first came out, and they never updated anything.

My best advice would be to find a better OS. Ubuntu netbook Remix and some other are quite good too. Xandros Eee is easy to use, but limited. The best would be to find a moblin/MeeGo version for the 701, but most version can only run on Intel Atom, not the old 667mhz CeleronD mobile.
