Angry multisession DVD : is there a solution?

I burnt a DVD in nero and could not mount it using GNOME on Fedora7. I then closed the session in nero and the dvd worked fine...

How can I read an open session dvd in fedora 7? A search on the internet showed me several people complaining about it but could find no good solution...

Is there a solution yet?

It's pretty general that an unclosed multisession disc, be it cd or dvd, may not be readable with other drives or other systems before it's closed. That's what closing the disc means - it's written "finished" so that it's usable on many systems. In addition at least the man page of growisofs tells you this:

* OS might fail to mount multisession DVD for various reasons;

The above is not applicable to DVD+RW, DVD-RW Restricted Overwrite, DVD-RAM or Blu-ray Disc as volumes are grown within a single session.
Shortly said, close the disc before taking it anywhere from the place where it was created. If you need to be able to write just a little at a time and carry the media around, consider using flash memory keys or external harddisks.
