Multiple instances opening, causing trouble
 

Whenever I open certain apps, such as XMMS, I look in the process table and I see 6 instances of it. This is causing my system to hand and the program in question not to function properly. What is causing this and how do I stop it? Slack 10.2 KDE 1.3

Hi,
Try executing those from with-in the terminal and see if they report some error/problem. Also xmms in my knowledge executes atleast 3 different processes one each for the main window, equalizer and playlist.
