Multiple Command-Line Programs

I have a command-line program and I want to run n instances of it. I would like the output from each instance to be written on a seperate line.

I think I might be about to write a wrapper program using ncursers, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if it has already been done. Does anyone know of an existing application that can do this?

You should probably ask this in the programming forum.

If you try to share the screen I think you'll create problems for yourself. What about using a tabbed terminal such as mrxvt?

With ncurses you can certainly write wherever you want on the screen but I don't know if you safely multiplex output from different processes unless you somehow share the window structure between them. The next easiest way after using a tabbed terminal is to create an ncurses front-end to manage the data from your back-end and use IPC or even files to send it the data. Let the front end write to different parts of the screen on behalf of each back-end process. This is probably what you meant about a wrapper. It should work fine.
