multi yum install


ok i want to yum install xmms and all the plug ins. but i dont want to install all the indvidual packages 1 by 1, so is there like a multi install command, to get everything that involves xmms, and its dependences.

sry bout the sp. im in a hurry

yum automatically installs any dependencies you may need to install the package you tell it to install. aditionally you may tell yum to install several packages at the same time (# yum instal l<package1> <package2>) and even use wildcards (yum install *xmms*). Be careful though not to overdo it. You may not need everything yum offers.

If you want all xmms programs, I would use the command:
yum install xmms-*

Also, if you are only installing a few packages, you can short cut by installing the child package which will have to grab the parent package automatically. For example, if I want xmms and xmms-skins, I can use the command: yum install xmms-skins
