MSNBC video and iceweasel

Arrgh...

Hi every body. I'm trying to watch some MSNBC videos online, here is a sample...

And it keep telling me that I need firefox 1.5 and mozilla flash 9.0.

Here is the b*tch: I'm running a Debian etch system that has iceweasel 2.0.0.6 instead of firefox. and I got the latest version of flash.

I had previously edited the browser signatures using the about:config url. I don't remember what I did specifically, and I'm wondering if there is a more elegant solution.

Any ideas on how to run the video?

you have already had the right idea, change the user-agent from 'iceweasel' to 'firefox' (as a debian user you should do this anyway), then the videos will work. You also need to deactivate adblock and noscript addons in case you have them installed.

However, this guy in the video is kinda strange. First he makes a political campaign for Hillary Clinton with bombastic, populistic rhetoric ... and then he mocks himself about nude pics of Britney Spears. Well also sort of populism I guess ...

BTW. Keith Olbermann is a rather unique commentator. The speech you saw was probably one of the more bizarre I've seen. Check out some of the interviews with his legal correspondent. It should be a smoother introduction to his show. However, if you're a Bush supporter or a neo-con, there's probably nothing about him you'll like, just watch FOX instead.
