at the moment i am using kopete but i can only recieve messages from msn users and not send them coz they dont go through. but it is good software anyways.

Ive been using AI's Messenger. It's great IMO.. you can find it by searching for msn at http://freshmeat.net if ya want to give it a try

List of messenger apps

I found the best way to find out about the clones was to go to www.tucows.com select the Linux OS and view what's under the "Internet" applications listing. It tells you all of them and gives you a rating.

What about amsn? Its got animated smilies and checks for emails. This really is an msn clone and works a treat.
