MS Active Directory Tool

Is there any software that will allow me to audit AD, take snapshots and submit changes for approval or something along those lines. I didn't find anything relevant on sourceforge.

What do you mean by "Active Directory"? You mean the whole thing? Do you mean the LDAP entries? You might be able to use an LDAP tool, but I don't think I've seen one that does what you are wanting to do... not that I fully understand what you are wanting to do

You should be able to use openldaps client tools to
extract snapshots or dumps, but I don't understand
what you mean with the "submit for approval" bit...

There's also LdapBrowser (an ugly but useful java tool)
to do lots of LDAP manipulations ...
