Hi,
I'm experiencing a weird problem. I've always used mplayer, and I have always enabled almost every selectable option, whenever I have compiled it. However, mplayer simply won't play the sound in the mpegs from my digital camera correctly, which is EXTREMELY annoying. I installed Xine, and it played the movie clip without problems. I even tested it at a friends windows xp-computer, and the native media player and built-in codecs played the clip fine too.
My camera is a HP Photosmart R707 and Mplayer is MPlayer 1.0 Opre5.
I use debian sarge, and have almost every imaginable libmpg, libavi etc. library installed from the debian repository and beyond.
I have a test clip here:
http://www.sqx.dk/misc/cameraclip.mpg which every one of my players can show, except Mplayer =(
I hear a rippling and scratching sound, instead of the music which should be in the background in this clip.
Below are my compile options (./configure) for mplayer:
--enable-vesa --enable-xv --enable-vm --enable-fbdev --enable-x11 --enable-sdl --enable-xvmc --enable-xinerama --enable-mmx --enable-mmx2 --enable-3dnow --enable-3dnowex --enable-sse --enable-sse2 --language=da,en --with-codecsdir=/usr/local/lib/codecs/ --with-xvidlibdir=/usr/lib/ --with-livelibdir=/usr/lib/live/ --enable-external-faad --enable-menu
Normally, I never have any problems with mplayer, and I simply won't use Xine :-(
Hope someone knows anything.
