mplayer with libdvdnav support

I have libdvdnav4 and devel packages installed anf ran the configure "./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-gui --enable-largefiles --with-dvdnav-config=/usr/bin"

The output gave:

Checking for lircc ... no
Checking for color console output ... no
Checking for DVD support (libdvdnav) ... no
Creating config.mak
Creating config.h

at the end.

The configure help says it supposed to be autodetect; the only flag I can set is to disable it. I have installed everything with dvdnav in its name and even told it wher the config file is located. Why do I get the "no" for dvdnav support?

Have you tried downloading, compiling and installing libdvdnav from source? I've seen this fix the issue many times for other apps; sorry I can't help any more than that.

Have you tried reading config.log to see what the problem actually is?

--enable-dvdnav will do the trick.

Thanks for the tips. I haven't tried dvdnav from source yet and the configure.log doesn't give a clue. Enabling forces the issue but it errors out in the make.

The configure apparently tests for it by issuing a command dvdnav-config which returns a usage statemant with options then a "no" meaning it is not present. Both developer and regular versions are installed. When I type dvdnav-config --version I get 0.1.10.

I hate to install from source as it messes up the urpmi record keeping of installed programs which determines what dependencies are needed on the next urpmi install; unless I install from source over the original install if that won't mess anything up.
