Mplayer seek failure

Howdy,
I have yet another Mplayer issue. I can not get DVD's to play. I get a very brief maybe 1/4 second blurb of sound and the video flickers and an error "seek failure" pop's up.
I read that libmpdvdkit2 for libdvdcss support is included in mplayer now. My dvd showes up as cdrom0 but seems to work, but not sure if thats an issue, no errors though. Its a combo player in a laptop. Any ideas?

Well I thought I installed it last night, but Totem doesn't see it. So its probably installed in the wrong place or its the wrong libdvdcss version etc... Who knows, I don't! With Mplayer I changed a bunch of options and now I get "video: can't read properties". I'm thinking maybe the encrytption is new and improved or maybe my DVD just can't read them.

I fixed it. I downloaded the Libdvdcss from I think Vlan repository. I messed around with it for a couple days and when I tried a command line install I found out it was corrupted. I downloaded libdvdcss from somewhere else and it still didn't work. I went back to the vlan site and got libdvdcss2_1.2.9-1_i386.deb and this one worked. Mplayer plays my DVD perfect. Totem plays it but the audio sounds like a motorcycle. So everyone try multiple libdvdcss's if one or two don't work!!!
