MPlayer + QuickTime = No go?

Hello everybody! This question has been covered in a few other threads, but even though I've followed all the replies and tips they've gotten, I can't seem to resolve this issue. I simply can't play QuickTime files, but all the other formats works great (RealVideo, DivX/XviD, SVCD). Here's my command line and error report:

Code:
[raccoon@fuskpappa:~]$ mplayer -vo gl hl2_fulldemo_e32004.mov

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: decode_video
- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and
  disassembly. Details in DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html#bugreports_crash.
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.
Note that I've tried with all the available video output devices (displayed with -vo help) and also downloaded both the "All-in-one codec pack" and the "Latest Win32 Codecpack" (and put them in the /usr/local/lib/codecs dir). Since all other video formats works great, I figure this is a codec issue. Anyone lese who've had the same problem as me? Thanks in advance!

UPDATE:
I checked the ~/.mplayer/codecs.conf file and found the following entry, altough it doesn't change anything:
Code:
videocodec ffsvq3
info "FFmpeg Sorenson Video v3 (SVQ3)"
  status working
  fourcc SVQ3
  driver ffmpeg
  dll svq3
  out YV12,I420,IYUV

hmm

Maybe you could try placing the files in usr/lib/win32... That's how I finally got sound to play. Maybe try different directory names?

See if that works.

I already had them in there for some odd reason, I guess i symlinked my /usr/local/lib/codecs-dir while following one of the other potential solutions Still didn't work though, I'm thinking about doing a clean install from the CVS build instead of using the Gentoo ebuild.

did you get anywhere with this in the end? I am trying to play the exact same file and get the same error
When I do try to play it tho it seems to play for a fraction of a second and then it stops.
