mplayer question.

I've installed mplayer from tarballs and can watch mpeg video no problem now. I'm not allergic to the console but prefer a gui if possible. Can someone confirm the correct directory locations to install skins, fonts and codecs?
Same question for mencoder please...

Skins:
/usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin
Fonts:
/usr/local/share/mplayer/font
Codecs are various locations but:
/usr/lib/win32
Is for the win32 codecs. You can specify this location in the configure process though if you want to choose a different location.

And in the future, you probably don't want to address your question towards a specific person, it's going to get you quite a bit less views/responses, plus you only get 1 opinion if only 1 person answers. There are other ways to do things, especially these things (you can set these files in the user home directory for example) so it's good to get a wide variety of answers

Cool

You'll have to compile MPlayer with gui capability, though. If you didn't do that then you'll have to recompile.

Of course they did We rock he he he, just kidding. I'd think so, there isn't a whole lot to do with the gui if you've got the backend configured correctly, which I think we pretty much covered the basis on fairly well.

Cool
