mplayer plugins don't work with seamonkey browser

Hello! I installed mplayerplug-ins and linked mplayerplug-in.so to the plugin folder of the seamonkey browser and also linked mplayerplug-in.xpt to the component folder in the browser and it doesn't seem to work. I have done that as root since the browser installation dir are in my home dir. Do I need to link the w32codecs to the browser dir too? The seamonkey browser is based on Mozilla .Java and flash plugins work so I assumed I must have done something wrong. Thanks for your input.

Instead of linking mplayerplug-in.so and mplayerplug-in.xpt, just copy them to the relevant places. The only link that should in the plugin directory is libjavaplugin_oji.so. The rest of the files should just be copied to it.

Thanks! It worked I even looked at the plugin options on the browser and it showed that it will play all mpg, mpegs, divx, etc. the only thing I didn't see was the .wmv which is windows media. Now, I have the w32 codecs installed for xine and mplayer. How do I make that work in the browser so I can play embedded .wmv? Tnaks again

Try looking for mplayerplug-in-wmp.so, copy that to the plugins directory and copy the mplayerplug-in-wmp.xpt to the components directory.

That should do it.

ok, after I got the mplayer plugin working, I started to notice that the audio and the music volume were degrading over time until I could not hear the audio for anything, not videos, PC games, dvd movies, nothing. apparently the mplayer plugins are causing problems. Has anyone had these problems? Thanks
