Mplayer OSX-Brushed skin probs

I installed mplayer (using ./configure --enable-gui), and I installed the OSX-Brushed skin to /usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin/default, and when I run gmplayer, it shows up just fine, but it gives me an error message:
Code:
New_Face failed. Maybe the font path is wrong.
Please supply the text font file (~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf).
I searched the docs and couldn't find anything on the fonts.

I also get another error about the vo... nevermind, I fixed: it. But the fonts error still appears.
