Hello,
I have a widescreen laptop, and when I run a movie in MPlayer at full-screen it stretches the frame, as if it thought I regular 4:3 monitor -- in other words everything played in full-screen mode is stretched horizonally. Does anybody know how I can fix this? If I play in the integrated KDE MPlayer it's fine, and also in Totem, it's just when I play it directly through MPlayer. Video card is ATI IGP 320-M and I use MDK 10.0 with KDE.
Thanks!

i thought there was a nicer way to do it, but try adding the options "-screenh <pixels> -screenw <pixels>" to the command line. what video output are you using? this shouldn't be an option under any X output, or fbdev.
vo: X11 running at 1280x800 with depth 16 and 16 bpp (":0.0" => local display)
Is that the video output module?
If I invoke mplayer with -screenw 1280 -screenh 800, I get the stretchy problem as before. However, the options -screenw 1067 -screenh 800 give me the correct aspect ratio. Cool! However, when I do fullscreen mode with this setting, it doesn't cover up the whole screen, so my desktop still pokes out at the rightmost region of my screen. Do you suppose there is any way to work around that?
Thanks!!!
EDIT: I find that if i use the -x and -y commands, every works fine in gmplayer and mplayer...except the bars at the edge of the screen are grey, not black, so it's rather distracting. Does anybody know where I would change such a thing? Also, is there any way to do this so that I don't have to manually enter the resolutions in every time?
Thanks!!!
