MPlayer "little" problem :) (blue screen)

Hello everyone who wants to help me

If decription of my box will be useful, I'll send it later. Now let's begin with the problem.
I was using Red Hat 9 and once I installed MPlayer - not an rpm, I compiled it; I used GUI interface; everything wored fine, I could watch movies, but, from time to time the screen went blue; all the screen was blue; I could hear the sound, but all I could see was a blue screen; this problems happened when I used PanScan option; I watched movie for about 8 or 10 minutes, then the screen went blue; when i moved mouse or pressed any key on the keybord - everything was as before - blue colour disappeared, and I could watch a movie for next 8 to 10 minutes; Now I'm using fedora core 2 and I thought that the problem will also disappear like the blue screen but the problem is still there - the same as it was in Red Hat 9; Is there something I can do to stop the screen going blue after every 8-10 minutes of watching movie? It's quite annoying when have to get up from a comfortable armchair just to pras any key or move the mouse; every 10 minutes!!!!

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated;

Btw, I did'n google to solve this problem - first I'm asking you and I hope your ideas will work;

Thansk again,

Red

What video card are you using?? Do you have the latest drivers installed?

Try to do a "xvinfo" to see if you have enable it or not, and possible errors.
You may want to run mplayer with -vo x11 -zoom options enabled (via mplayer, not gmplayer).
You can do a "mplayer -vo help" to see available video codecs if you're not able to get xv to work with video drivers.

The problem is most likely your screensaver; Possibly it's about to overlay the screen, but failing to activate while mplayer is running. Try turning off your screensaver and see if it still happens.
