I did search on this website if anyone had an similar experience. I installed mplayer and followed the instructions thats onhttp://members.rogers.com/ctmlinux/guide3.html#mplayer . How can run the mplayer in gui, I right clicked the movie, chose open with but don't see mplayer in it. I am a newbie to linux so not really sure on what extension to associate the mplayer file with.
Sorry to sound retarded but whats the location to gmplayer and how do I point togmplayer, and what file extension. I am just trying to break old windows habits, so what is the extension for gmplayer file and location.
If you have installed mplayer from the rpm then gmplayer can be found in the directory /usr/bin . if you have compiled from the source, it will be in the directory /usr/local/mplayer/bin.
if you have compiled from the source, it will be in the directory /usr/local/mplayer/bin.
since when???? no chance. which ever way you do install it it will be on your path, so you don't need to know where it actually is anyway, jsut associate *.avi wiith gmplayer, nothign more or less...
