Mplayer ghosts? Extra "boxes" after playback...
Hi :)
Here's a screenshot of what I am talking about: www.masterc.no-ip.org/host/mplayer-bug.png I am just wondering what it is? I can kill it ~ 20% of the time, other times I can't. I try xkill usually, or right click on the border and choose kill. Here's the explainaition of the pick: The one box that looks clear is an "opened up" one. The black line above the clear box is the thing that shows up after playback. I grab the edge of it and can drag it open into the "unnamed" box. It's random, I cannot automatically reproduce it, and it's not with any specific video type. I am guessing it's a bug, but I am just wondering if anyone else has this problem, and maybe how they have fixed it??? :) Cool |
Gidday Master !
What desktop/wm are you using there? How do you start it? I'm running mplayer on flux with *no* probs whatsoever, and am wondering whether it relates to your environment rather than the program ... :} Cheers, Tink |
Thanks for the reply Tink! It's on a Fluxbox 0.1.11 Slackware 8.1 system. Running mplayer 0.90rc1-2.95.3 (although this has happened with older version as well). Graphics card is an ATI Rage Fury Pro uses Rage128 drivers.
I do think it didn't happen when I use to solely use KDE, so maybe it is an env problem... thanks for the idea. I will test that out a bit. :) Cool |
I've got a radeon in my notebook ...
Try upgrading to Flux 0.1.14? ;) Cheers, Tink |
Will do... And thanks for the suggestion :)

"How's the new Fluxbox doing mate?" :) Any more "artefacts"? Cheers, Tink |
Definitely! Works great, I haven't had another one since :)
Thanks! |
Cool bananas! :}
Enjoy ;) Cheers, Tink |
I did have a problem with mplayer opening an additional window all the time once that was caused by the fact that the sound output was set to sdl by default.I don't think thats your problem but you might want to double check the settings.
