MPlayer: Fullscreen Blackouts-A Complete Mystery?

When scrolling through the gmplayer playlist while in fullscreen mode, the screen blacks out. The movie is playing, the sound is runnning, but the screen is black. If I move the mouse pointer down to activate the autohide control panel, or if I click on the screen to bring up the other control panel, the picture reappears. As I frequently scroll through a large number of video clips while in fullcreen mode, this bug gets really annoying. It's for this reason alone that I usually use Totem, even though I much prefer Mplayer. Why would MPlayer have this problem and not Xine?

I've posted about this problem before, both on this board and twice on the MPlayer mailing list and no one has had any suggestions. I've had this problem on a Knoppix 3.2 HD installation, and now it's the same problem on Slackware 10. I have a Radeon 7200 card with direct rendering enabled. I'm using the xv driver. Can anyone suggest anything?

- Thanks

Same problem here, not huge or anything since the only thing I watch in full screen mode are movies, and it's not a hassle to drag the mouse and make the picture reappear. But it is still kinda annoying. hmmm.
