Smile MPlayer error libmp3lame.so.0


i have configure all the packge
font-arial-iso-8859-1
libsndfile-1.0.17
twolame-0.3.10
lame-3.97
MPlayer-1.0rc2

as instructed by:ComputerGreek

MPlayer and MEncoder (The DVD/Movie/Video/MP3 Player and Encoder for Linux)

i did all the steps but now mplayer still not working. i have got this message as:

mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libmp3lame.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

how to overcome with better solution is the one thing left.

You don't mention what distro you're using, but you probably have to also install the liblame package, which on some distros at least is packaged separately from the lame executable. Do a search of your package repository.

yha i did this by copying the libmp3.so.O package to /usr/lib

I have the same issue. where did you download the libmp3.so.O package

find the libmp3.so.0 from the mplayer directory and make symbolic link to the /usr/bin or copy that .so.0 to the /usr/bin .
