I have read a lot of posts, have all the dependencies installed, set permissions to:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 2006-06-19 10:56 /dev/dvd -> /dev/hdc
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 2006-06-19 10:56 /dev/cdrom -> /dev/hdc
When trying to play a dvd I still get:
Linux RTC init error in ioctl (rtc_irqp_set 1024): Permission denied
Try adding "echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq" to your system startup scripts.
Playing dvd://.
libdvdread: Could not open device with libdvdcss.
libdvdread: Can't open /dev/dvd for reading
Couldn't open DVD device: /dev/dvd
when trying to use lsdvd I get:
lsdvd
Can't open disc /dev/dvd!
I don't know what's wrong here anymore, thanks in advance for any advise!
Well, if im not mistaken mplayer shouldnt be using libdvdcss anyway, it should be using libmpdvdkit. Of course I could be totally wrong, but you should check the output when you configure mplayer before making and see if its making mpdvdkit.
