mplayer doesn't work after reconfiguring xorg

Hi,

I have a nvidia tnt2 riva graphics card, and I'm running Ubuntu 5.04. A few days ago I had a problem with my X server, and I had to reinstall my nvidia drivers and make an xorg.conf file that I accidently deleted.

After getting the X server back up, I'm having trouble using mplayer. This is the error I'm getting:
Code:
VO: [xv] 640x480 => 640x480 Planar YV12
X11 error: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)

MPlayer interrupted by signal 6 in module: decode_video
I tried using other video output drivers, but only "-vo sdl" is working fine. Other vo's such as xv, x11, gl2 are not working. xv used to give me much better output compared to sdl.

I also tried using other media players like gxine and xfmedia. They work fine, and the XV driver also works with them.

Here is my /etc/X11/xorf.conf file, maybe there's some lines I need to add/remove/change?

Code:

	FontPath	"/usr/share/X11/fonts/misc"
	RgbPath "/etc/X11/rgb.txt"

Edit: I've tried reinstalling mplayer, but it still wont work (using the deb in the ubuntu repository -version 1:1.0-pre6-0.3ubuntu6)
Thanks,
-Aku

Short answer. Remove mplayer and reinstall it.

I compiled mplayer from source, had many errors during compiling that I fixed.

If anyone is getting this error when using the XV driver,
Code:
vo: x11 uninit called but X11 not inited..
then you need to install the libxv-dev package. I hope this will help people, since I couln't find anything on google, and most forum threads have the issue unsolved.
