MPlayer cutting off the start of each file

When I play an MP3 file in MPlayer it always cuts off the first 0.5-1.0 second from the start of track. Is anyone else having this problem, or knows how to stop it?

Try enabling/increasing buffer size in ~/.mplayer/config (or etc/mplayer.conf).

Hi Emerson, thanks for the reply. I tried adding

Code:

abs=1000

to my config file, but it didn't make any difference. I then read it was obselete anyway.

I've noticed something else now, when I play a file I get the following line coming up

Code:

mpg123: Can't rewind stream by 95 bits!

The strange thing is that mpg123 plays the file perfectly, so I'm not sure what is going on. Any idea where I can get a list of options I can put in the config file, the mplayer docs aren't really focused on it?

Some options can be seen in /etc/mplayer.conf and there is more in man mplayer (it's not smallest man page).
