MPlayer Codecs

I'm running Mandriva 2005 LE and I just installed it on this laptop. I have downloaded the win32 (Windows All) package from the mplayer website so that my Kaffeine player will play .wmv files. However I cannot remember where I need to extract the contents of the package to, as in, where are the Kaffeine or xine codecs kept?

I think

I think they are located in /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0, but I'm not sure and wanted to ask first.

I'm in the process of adding sources using Easy URPMI right now. Certainly will make getting to sources much easier however, I don't see what that has to do with putting codecs in the right directories. Have I missed the boat on this? Care to comment? Thanks.
