Mplayer/Audio over Xnest to Thin Client

Hi All,
I am using Xnest to provide a thin client workstations access to several applications running on my server (normal stuff openOffice, email, browser, etc.). It's working great.

Now they have asked me to supply the thin clients with the ability to play audio and video from the server. My thin clients have audio capabilities so I know they can play it. I just don't know how to get the audio out to the clients.

If I run mplayer from the server I see the user interface at the client fine but i do not hear anything locally, same for movies.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I might do this. Moving to VNC is also an options but I believe I still have the same basic problem.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
