Question MPlayer and VESA resolution

Does anyone know how one could select the VESA mode that mplayer uses for playback?

I know that one selects the VESA output as follows:

mplayer -vo vesa somefile.ext

But the mplayer just enters some VESA mode (resolution). I would like to try some low resoultions like 320x200x256.
