Mplayer and DVD navigation???

Hi I installed MPlayer on my Gentoo box and it works pretty well (well at least the KM player front end does). However whenever I start playing a DVD it always seems to start playing all the special features fist, including director's commentry etc... Moreover as far as I can tell, it doesn't seem to have any inbuilt DVD navigation facility. Is there something I can installl that will give me dvd naviagtion functionality? And also how do I get MPlayer to start playing a movie from the beginning, rather than from the special faetures first?

One other thing that confuses me is that i emerged/installed a package called 'mplayer skins'. I don't quite get this as Mplayer seems to be a command line utility - and the only front end I can find seems to be kmplayer - which doesn't - as far as I know - have a skinning capability. How do i use these skins and/or is there some other front end that i need to install to be able to use them?
