mplayer

I was doing some reading, and it seems lots of people like mplayer, so I decided to install it. I'm running Mandrake 9.1 on an Inspiron 8200 with most things working quite fine (I just have a few more things to figure out--no major problems).

Anyway, I can play a dvd through mplayer by using a console command, and I've figured out most of the key commands, but I'd prefer to have a graphical interface that I can use to rewind/fast forward, etc. However, I can't seem to open DVDs in the actual graphical version of mplayer (i.e. by first opening up mplayer through the Kmenu). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

if you right-click on the video playing bit you get a menu which should have a dvd entry. Works for me, tho i'm not running kde
