Mplayer
I recently reinstalled my whole system and now I have a very strange problem with MpPlayer. It was running fine before but now it crash every time I press a button.
The only error I get is "MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: vo_check_events" and sometime "MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: ao2_init". Since it was running fine before,I am very confuse. Anyone see that error before? |
Maybe you should go back to some earlier Mplayer version - 0.90pre8-2.95.3, the one I use is working fine. I can remember I had lots of problems with some fo latest versions.

My version is the latest one, badly :(
version pre9 I was using was very good, but now I have these problem with any version :( |
have you read http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/documentation.html .......?
Half-Elf, maybe you should send a full report about you bug to Mplayer Headquaters - mplayer-users@mplayerhq.hu? I think that Mplayer programmers are serious people, they will answer you question, if you'll make a reaquest very thoroughly. |
I already tried but the only thing I got for answer is a huuuuuge mail list (and there are too much incoming msg for to find my own msg replay in all that).
However I think the problem come from my video drivers because mplayer works well with ONE video output (sdl... why this one??? I dunno, really!!!). I recently upgrade my kernel to 2.4.19 and sive this one do not contain few modules needed by nvidia drivers, I copied some old 2.4.18 module in my new kernel... I will try to downgrade my kernel. As I said, mplayer is crashing if I hit a key (but not with SDL... strangely) but if I bind these key to my joystick/mouse, everything is working fine (???). |
so recompile you kernel again!
|
Done, but it doesn't work.... Very strange.
Can it be cause by Slack 8.1 ? It was running fine under 8.0, maybe a library isn't compatible or something? |
i'd suggest going to the mplayers-users list. you won't be able to get any in depth help here...
|
Did you try recompiling mplayer after compiling your new kernel? Are all the files in the right places? input.conf,menu.conf,codecs.conf in ~/.mplayer and all the codecs in the right places? /usr/lib/win32?
