The GUI sucks IMO. I suggest sticking to the command line. I might not be the best person to ask since I don't really use frontends, and probably never would unless it were REALLY, REALLY excellent...

When I play DVD, normally I have a screen that let me to choose which chapter I want to play, more importantly I can choose the subtitle language. However, when I type
Code:
mplayer dvd://
It plays DVD directly without showing that screen. And I tried to press the key 'v' during it plays to turn the subtitle on, but nothing happened.

so how to show up that initial screen and how to show the subtitle?

thanks for help.
