MPlayer 1.0pre3 - DVD Playback problems!!
 

OK, I just spent way longer than planned on getting MPlayer installed... I got the all-in-one codec pack, and installed those, got a buncg of other things like ogg, vorbis, and libdvdread and stuff... and now, when I try playing a DVD, I get the audio but the video shows up as just GREEN... and then when I close the program, my graphics all over my screen are messed up. I am using the GUI.. I got some error the FIRST time I tried to play a DVD but it doesn't come back now...

I am using Slackware 9.1, Kernel 2.6.1, and KDE 3.1.94. Everything else is running great!1 I have an nVidia GeForce2 Go 32MB graphics card in a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop... I am using the nVidia Linux driver...

Any idea what I am not doing right??

You have the dvd libraries installed?

in need of advice concerning an inspiron 8000 setup
 

I also have an Inspiron 8000 laptop, and have tried to install Slackware 9.1 on it, with.. issues.

I've got problems getting ALSA to let me have access to my mixer and other similar problems. I was thinking that I could recompile my kernel, but I have no clue what kinds of options to turn on. Would you mind sharing the kernel-config file you used with me?
