After 7 months of relative silence, the newest version of the superbly brilliant MPlayer is out. Well it's been out for over a week now and i never actually noticed... my bad.
A fair number of really interesting updates in this release. The one i like the look of most is the lowres option for libavcodec's decoding. hopefully this'll make my little
animalSnes run even nicer with any random input file.
also decent mp2 encoding support, meaning I think it should be possible for mencoder to directly output vcd compatible mpegs. maybe this will finally creep into acidrip!
a bunch of GUI updates look worthy of a mention, but as i never use the GUI i wouldn't know!
