Thumbs up mpich_port_range

hey there,

im using mpich2 with mpd as process manager.
i tried to set a port range so as to limit the ports that mpd uses.
i set the MPICH_PORT_RANGE=8000:9000 as an environment variable but this applies only on the machine im booting the mpd ring from, as like this:
node1
node2

if i boot the ring form node1
node1 takes port 8000
node2 takes ANY_RANDOM_PORT not specified in the range
and of course vice versa

thank u very much
