mpeg4ip and faad2

I am "torn" between the two. Both mpeg4ip and faad2 contain "libmp4v2.so" and "mp4.h". I was going to stick with faad2 because it contains the xmms plugin that works nicely. However, gtkpod does not like the version of mp4v2 that I have from faad2. I'd imagine they need the version that comes with mpeg4ip, which does not have the xmms plugin.

What should I do? I know this question isn't making much sense (yet), but I'm just scratching my hair now and can't put my question in an easy-to-understand manner...
