MP3 player for linux


Hello users,

I need an media player for my linux os.

I currently using vlc player but it does not provide quality sound. So looking for another media player.

Can someone suggest me one ?

Vlc is one of the best media players available. Just tweak some settings and you should be fine (I do not have vlc installed right now). Most of the times for audio I use cli mplayer.

Have you tweaked the following equalizer settings in VLC?

What do you mean bad quality? vlc should be fine for mp3. You can try deleting vlc settings if other players (amarok, gmplayer, smplayer, ..) play mp3s well.

those instructions can also be ported for RHEL6

So many MP3 player in linux:Amarok,XMMS,rythmbox,exaile,banshee etc.Try banshee.It's great.
