Mozilla won't recognize java plugin
I wanted to develop java apps and applets on my RH9 machine.
So I installed the latest JDK and now I can compile and run apps.
But to run applets I needed to install the plugin for my browser.
I followed the instructions and made a symbolic link in the mozilla plugins
directory to the libjavaplugin_oji.so file in the JDK.
However I still get the "need to install java pulgin" error when I try to run the applet.
When I go to Help>About plugins I can't see any java plugin listed. Only the flash
plugin I installed earlyer.
In the /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4.2/plugins I have:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 62 Sep 25 15:02 libjavaplugin_oji.so -> /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_04/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
I think that does it.
I've been serching all kinds of forums and usually that link does the trick.
I seem to have some other problem
