mozilla starting troble

when I start mozilla it starts up just fine and I can open links in new windows and all that stuff like that.

but if I try to start mozilla again, wether its from my menu (on my fluxbox desktop) or if it trys to start because of a link in Gaim, it asks what user profile I want and if I try to select my name it gives me an error that says that the profile is already in use.

anyone know how to get past this?

Well, this seems to be an irritating problem with both Mozilla and Firebird as they refuse to open multiple instances without specifying a different profile name. So, if u really like using these browsers then fancypiper is right. Just open links in new tabs.

amit

You should start Mozille with the remote option if mozilla is already running
( Mozilla starts normally with this option when t's not running )

check out http://www.mozilla.org/unix/remote.html

this may seem like a stupid question to you, and it probably is.

but how do i open tabs in mozilla? I am kind of new to linux (using since july) and I have never learned how to use tabs in mozilla, this seems like a good idea to me expecially with my slow connection.

Opening a new Mozilla window with "CTRL-N" (or "File -> New Window) should work as well if you don't want too many tabs.

You can set the TAB's as default in your prefernces (Edit -> Prefernces -Navigator -> Tabbed Browsing .... remove the check at "Hide the tab bar when.....".
This will set one tab immediadly when you open the browser .
On the left of the TAB is a button with which you can open a new TAB with an blank page.

If you selekt a link on a page .. use your right mouse button and selekt "open link in new TAB" .... this will also create a new TAB ( with the page you selekted ).
