mozilla problem


i have a problem with the opening the html files.,when i double click the icon theres is no response at all even i tried by right click-> open/openwith even then there is no response

intially i had mozilla-1.4 but i wanted mozilla-1.6, so downloaded (mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.6-stub-installer.tar.gz) and installed it in /usr/lib/mozilla/mozilla/


some the contents of the my /usr/bin/mozilla file is like this...

MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME="/usr/lib/mozilla-1.2.1
export MOZILLA_FIVE_H

if [ "$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" ]
then
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/mozilla-1.2.1:/usr/lib/mozilla-1.2.1/plugins:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
else
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/mozilla-1.2.1:/usr/lib/mozilla-1.2.1/plugins
fi

export LD_LIBRARY_PATHOME


and when i execute the command

$ whereis mozilla
mozilla: /usr/bin/mozilla /usr/lib/mozilla


so help me out..

maybe thats causing a problem......

Try to remove both versions (I have heard that you are suppose to remove a previous version of mozilla before installing a new version).

After you remove both, re-install Mozilla 1.6 and it should be ok.
