Mozilla memory gripes

Hi guys,

I use Mozilla 1.7.2 and I have the following problem: I sometimes work on 3-4 projects simultaneously, and I'll have lots of tabs open about each (say 5 windows with 15 tabs each), which pushes Mozilla up to around 600M. That in itself slows things down (I have 512M), but I guess I have to live with that.

What's annoying is that when I close half of those tabs, Mozilla doesn't return all that memory to store. It's still sitting on 600M, so the only way I can get back to normal speed is to close Mozilla, restart it, and reload the 30 pages I still need to have open.

Is there any workaround for this? Does Firebird fix this?

Thanks.

Good grief :)

What are you doing in those TABs?

I have 3 instances open at the moment,
with ~ 20 tabs ... my mozilla (1.7.2, too)
is "only" using ~64MB...

Cheers,
Tink
