Mozilla Firefox won't open -Fixed

The Problem- Mozilla Firefox won't start
What I did- I tried reinstalling Mozilla Firefox

Timeline-
I created a new user
Used the account mozilla firefox worked fine
Renamed /home/<username> to /home/lf (the other was too long)
Changed the account so home directory was /home/lf
logged into <username> most programs worked firefox didn't

When I started it it started but it didn't load everything (no pictures) and wouldn't respond to clicking
deleted /home/lf/.mozilla/firefox
didn't work
deleted /home/lf/.mozilla
(mozilla worked fine thats what I'm using right now)
Firefox wouldn't even open
Uninstalled mozilla-firefox
then reinstalled it still didn't work

My question- How can I get Mozilla Firefox to work?

Hi,

I am new to linux and I got a similar problem. Today is my first day with Mandrake Linux 10.1.
I managed to install Mozilla Firefox under root. in file:/usr/firefox/.
Firefox loads after the installer is finished but how can I start Firefox later in another account. It doesn´t seem to setup shortcuts.

Thanks,
McoreD

I think ....

Hi ,
I've installed firefox on my /home path , i use ./firefox command in the /firefox folder , in your case , try cd to /usr/firefox and use ./firefox . You can do the short-cut menu on your Kmenu , right click the Kmenu and use the menu editor to create the link. Thank you and please correct me if i'm wrong.

Thumbs up

Hi, thanks for the reply. I got it working by typing ./firefox in console. But as soon as the console is closed (acceidently) Firefox closes too. Mozilla doesn't need a console. Konqueror doesn't need a console too. Is it possible to make Firefox doesn't need the console as well?

I can't seem to find KMenu. Can you please tell me where to right click?

Much appreciated,
McoreD

Here you go...

Well , in kde , just right click on the Kmenu , the start menu on your desktop , and look for Menu Editor. In there configure the link to your firefox and Hola! It will be in your start menu. Just add in the path of your firefox INCLUDING the firefox exutable file. Ok?
