Mozilla crashes when it loads...

I've been using this copy of Mozilla for months without any trouble, but tonight when I went to open it it crashed on me. So opened again and it crashed again. I tried to see if I could get an error from the command line but it doesn't give one. I've tried logging out and in, making a new profile in Mozilla (choose profile loads, sometimes), rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling Mozilla but nothing helped. I don't understand what happened. What else could I try?

If you've enabled Java as a plugin, make sure you have installed the correct version for your version of Mozilla. If you're using Mozilla 1.5 or later, you need to refer to the plugin in the ns610-gcc32 directory. Using the wrong plugin makes Mozilla crash on startup. More info on referencing the correct plugin here:

Probably a corrupted profile.

The sure fix is to delete your profile folder.

If that sounds too painful, go to where your profile is, and try deleting history.dat, formhistory.dat, and maybe prefs.js and a few others. Keep at it until you delete the one file that's corrupt. Hopefully that one turns out to be history.dat :-)
