Hi all
Mozilla just show chinese a word like 4 number in the square box. (I have set the encoding)
I found some threads here, but still can not work.
I added three frontpath in XF86Config:

FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/encodings" #add

The chinese font is in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/encodings/large.
Although so many FontPath has been setted, but only little Font can be choosed in X software. How can I solve it? Thanks for giving any suggestion!

did you check the character coding in
View->character coding?
you sometimes have to manually tell mozilla that the page is in chinese - and I think there are several different ways of encoding chinese so try go through them one by one. Also, see if you have selected chinese font for chinese in Edit->Preferences->Fonts

and I re-installed Mozilla by using swaret
But still can not work.

Did you install the language package when you installed linux? If so, it should work.

Another solution, try to download netscape 7.1 and install it.

I use full install when I was installing Slackware9.1
After that I removed KDE by using swaret --remove kde

I just download the last verion of OPERA, it works !!! I can see the chinese word.

But I still don't know why Mozilla can not ?

I deleted Mozilla 1.4 and installed Mozilla 1.5
Now Chinese character can be showed now
